Pizzaiole is within blocks of my apartment so I came in a few weeks ago to place a pizza order and take it to go. It took 15 minutes to make the pizza so I ran to the Harris Teeter to grab a few things and come back. This seems to mostly be a takeout place, but it was faster and easier to just walk here for me.
We ordered a Sausage and Green Pepper 16" Pizza ($18.58 w tax). The pizza was fine with plenty of toppings but nothing special. The price felt high but at least there were lots of toppings. This was good to split between two people, but it could not have fed more than two of us. It was perfect for two tipsy adults looking for some sustenance. -

THIS ISNT DEEP DISH.
Where do I begin with the clusterf*** that was my order tonight? I tried ordering 4 pizzas for a fantasy football draft party, waited an hour, and received 2 medium pizzas with the wrong toppings. I ordered 2 large "deep dish" pizzas and 2 medium regular pizzas. The picture attached is what this joke of a pizzeria considers deep dish.
As if that wasn't bad enough, they asked for the 2 wrong pizzas back when they brought the new ones (why?). After waiting 2 hours for this mediocre attempt at pizza, they only offered a 20% discount to make up for it. Just an awful experience all around, and calling this "deep dish" is a slap in the face to people from Detroit and Chicago like my friends and I.
Stay far far away from this place. I'd rather eat Little Caesar's. -

At this point in my picsa life, I prefer simplicity. I won't go so far as to say I have a minimalist palate, I'm not one for food labels, but less is more--or so I think.
After two visits, Pizzaiole is one of my favorite places for picsa in the District.
Eating at Pizzaiole, and I've only been on the late night flow, I felt good about life. The ambiance was was so tranquilo. There is a tv playing sports that no one was watching. Most people came, breezed in and out to get food to-go. There aren't too many tables, I prefer the the seat by the window. It is perfect to view a dim stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue. I love the location. Since it is far away from the drunken revelers of other corridors, street parking is easy to fine. My rating above is 4 Star, but I don't see myself using a ride share service to get here. It is walking distance from both Potomac Avenue and Eastern Market but Pizziaole works best for me on my way and not as a destination. Well, it could work after a night with friends on H Street and then stopping here on your way home if this isn't out of your way.
The picza itself is huge and not really a slice. I would advise against ordering two, even if you are extra hungry. The law of diminishing returns states, and I quote, "The first slice will be just right but after that, just go home." The slice comes with a can of soda. I sub mine for water for no extra charge.
Pixxaiole is officially one of my spots. I have no desire to do delivery nor have anything other than a cheese "slice", a bottle of water and the peaceful late night caloric intake. -

Ordered online late night did the coupon special large 2 topping pizza and wings for 19.99 and an extra order of wings asked for my wings fried hard they guy said no problem and asked me if I wanted my fries the same way I said yes quoted me a 30-35 wait after almost an hour later the pizza guy was found outside by our hotel just sitting in the parking lot he didn't come in the hotel and they never asked for a number to call so he couldn't when I got my food it warm there was a total of 7 pepperonis and maybe 10 mushrooms on my large pizza my chicken was breaded and felt mushy not well done at all the pizza was okay if I ordered a warm cheese pizza the chicken was trash would never recommend or order again
